Slate and Mortar were commissioned by Net Natives (an education marketing agency) to produce a promotional video for Solihull Sixth Form College’s upcoming student recruitment marketing strategy.

Utilising a mixture of slow-motion and SteadiCam footage, alongside a building soundtrack and cinematic colour grade, the film was shot over a single filming day and was designed to engage and inspire potential students with a narrative that was specifically aspirational in tone; showing how engaging, challenging and rewarding college life can be.

Simple yet effective motion graphics were also utilised, challenging the viewer to develop themselves further and promoting the college’s key messages around support and teaching excellence. These graphics were designed to sit comfortably within the college’s existing brand guidelines and digital assets.

The video was a very successful part of Solihull Sixth Form College’s student recruitment marketing strategy, garnering significant viewership across their owned social media platforms. It was subsequently used again for their corresponding years recruitment drive.
