The Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA) engaged Slate and Mortar to create a promotional video for the organisation. This video was intended to cover all aspects of LIDA and feature prominently on their website’s landing page.
Previously, the website had a dated video, and LIDA desired an update. They sought to showcase their current staff, new strategic directions, and enhanced resources and facilities. Slate and Mortar collaborated with LIDA over several creative sessions to delineate their key messages and objectives. A script and written storyboard were meticulously developed beforehand, facilitating a smooth filming process that occurred in a single day with a small, mobile crew.
The subsequent post-production phase spanned three weeks, integrating customised footage with on-brand motion graphics, typography, and carefully selected stock footage to complement and illustrate the spoken content on screen. As per the standard procedure at Slate and Mortar, client involvement in the feedback and amendment process was extensive, enabling them to shape the film to align with their objectives successfully.
