Project: PGT Course videos
Lancaster University was looking to produce a suite of videos for their student recruitment marketing strategy, designed specifically to promote their postgraduate taught courses in Politics, Sociology, Psychology and Management Science.
Designed with a postgraduate audience in mind, the films were structured to highlight course content, introduce course academics, showcase research excellence being undertaken within their departments and promote the beauty of the campus and its first-class recreation and accommodation facilities.
The narrative for each film was led by a ‘piece to camera’ from a leading academic, coupled with interviews from current PGT students and alumni; asking them for their thoughts on the course, how they had developed as students, their plans for the future and the research they were currently undertaking.
The videos were produced utilizing a number of different filming techniques; such as aerial photography, pieces to camera, stock footage, talking-head interviews and creative B-roll; which were then combined into a cohesive, engaging narrative, which was then reformatted for short social media edits.
Simple yet effective motion graphics were overlaid to highlight key messaging and statistics that were identified by the university, such as funding grant amounts and the university’s worldwide and UK league table positions.
The final films were utilised as part of the university’s postgraduate student recruitment marketing strategy, which ran across a range of the universities owned media channels and platforms.
